POSTPONED: Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising with Chuck Loring

Please note: This event will not be held on March 21 and we are working to reschedule a new date, which will be posted here soon and communicated to all event registrants. If you have questions, please email

It's never been more important for boards and staff to work together effectively to solicit financial support for your organization.

A small percentage of people who join nonprofit boards are really excited about fundraising. If you're NOT one of those people, this session with Chuck Loring is absolutely essential.

Chuck's dynamic approach to resource development takes into account that not every person is a "make the ask" person and he helps you identify ways to find the right fit in your fundraising plan for each board member.

This practical session filled with tools you can use is perfect for board-staff teams and addresses the complementary roles board members play in their organization's governance and resource development.

The session begins with a close look at board recruitment, structure, operations, and culture, knowing that weak boards don't raise funds effectively. The second part of the session focuses on how to involve board members in effective fundraising and their role in supporting your bequest and planned giving program.

Topics covered in this day-long session will include:

  • Trends impacting governance & fundraising in the nonprofit sector.
  • Why some nonprofits confuse volunteering with governance.
  • Legal obligations of nonprofit boards.
  • How great boards profile before recruiting.
  • Why term limits are essential for a fundraising board.
  • How successful fundraising is not about asking for money.

Who Should Attend?

To maximize the benefit of this session, we recommend attending as a staff / board team.

"The content was amazing. Chuck is the best presenter I've ever seen, the amount & type of material handed out was perfect to bring back to the board."

"Best seminar I have ever attended, left with confidence and a set of tools to act on and make some real improvements in our organization."
