Are You Ready for the New FASB Accounting Guidelines?

In August 2016, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued an Accounting Standards Update that affects nonprofit organizations for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2017.

The changes are meant to help nonprofits tell their story more transparently through their financial statements and affect nonprofits in three major areas:  classification of net assets, tracking liquidity, and presentation of expenses.

Join our presenters from Mason & Rich to review how these changes and the new revenue recognition requirements will impact your nonprofit’s financial statements. Take a dive deeper into topics such as:

  • How to determine if your grants and contributions are within the scope of the new revenue recognition standard
  • How to record transactions that are part contribution and part exchange transaction
  • When to recognize revenue for tuition and housing and how to determine the transaction price
  • How to account for subscription revenue, membership dues, and life-time membership dues

Presenters: Peter Boyle, CPA and Andrew Luce, CPA, Mason + Rich PA
