Second Start is a private non-profit educational corporation located in Concord, New Hampshire since 1971. Second Start offers a wide variety of programs designed to improve the economic and educational well-being of New Hampshire residents.
Our mission is to help people become more productive workers, family members and community citizens. We provide supportive, affordable and effective educational programs, including: adult basic education, job training and career counseling, education and training for at-risk youth, and child care services.
About the Job
Second Start Alternative High School is seeking an engaging certified classroom teacher for the 2023-2024 school year who will use their patience, knowledge, and humor to connect with and motivate our students within our fun, supportive learning community.
Our small school benefits from strong local support, offers low student to teacher ratios (6 - 8 students to 1 teacher/ class), has in-house transportation available for student activities, and offers high levels of social-emotional support and life skills programming outside of the academic classroom to help support our students’ needs beyond school.
We seek teachers who are willing to work hard to find ways to help our students experience success, produce quality work, and develop the skills they’ll need to be successful adults after high school. We have great connections with our students and those relationships produce the type of outcomes that make all our efforts worthwhile!
