Portsmouth – Step Up Parents is pleased to announce it has appointed Katie Fontana to its Board of Directors. Step Up Parents offers financial assistance to grandparents and other relatives who have stepped up to raise children whose parents suffer from substance use disorder.
“I am pleased to be joining Step Up Parents and believe strongly in the value of their mission to help and support kinship caregivers,” said Fontana. She has a close personal connection to Step Up Parents’ mission and has always been an active member of her community, from organizing toy drives at Christmas for underprivileged children to fundraising for schools and local nonprofits, to volunteering in shelters and soup kitchens. She also practices Real Estate at Tate & Foss Sotheby’s International Realty in Rye.
“We are thrilled to have Katie join our team,” said Denyse Richter, Founder. “She brings her invaluable experience as a kinship caregiver herself along with her commitment to working in her community.”
