Roy Gerstenberger, Executive Director of Community Bridges, a leading non-profit organization committed to advancing the integration, growth and interdependence of people with disabilities within their home communities, was honored on October 20 with a 2015 Business Excellence Award by New Hampshire Business Review during its award reception at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.
Gerstenberger is one of eight honorees, winning in the non-profit category. The award is a fitting conclusion to his 18-year tenure at Community Bridges, ending this month as he leaves to become Director of the Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD) of the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL). He will be succeeded at Community Bridges by Richard Royse, effective November 2.
“This is a great honor that rightly belongs to everyone at Community Bridges – not only our talented professionals, but all of our clients and partners across central New Hampshire,” said Gerstenberger. “The Business Excellence Awards are given for accomplishments in the face of adversity and challenges, which is what people affected by disabilities strive for every day.”
The Business Excellence Awards, now in its thirteenth year, recognizes the imagination, industriousness, innovation and achievements of business owners and operators in New Hampshire. For more information, visit nhbr.com/Business-Excellence-Awards/.
