NH Gives officially kicked off June 6, at 6PM and wrapped up 24 hours later with more than $310,681 donated by 3,163 individuals to 292 nonprofits serving New Hampshire communities.
“The response to NH Gives exceeded our expectations,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the NH Center for Nonprofits. “Granite Staters came together to show how much they care about their neighbors, our communities and the nonprofits that help them thrive.”
Coordinated by the NH Center for Nonprofits, NH Gives was designed to raise as much money and awareness as possible for New Hampshire’s nonprofits within a 24-hour, flash mob of giving. NHGives.org provided citizens across the state with one, easy-to-use platform where they found causes and made donations.
“The last 24 hours have been incredible,” said Dick Ober, president and CEO of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. “The people of New Hampshire clearly understand the value that nonprofits bring to all of us—from protecting our natural resources to caring for our kids, feeding the hungry, spreading economic opportunity and welcoming New American neighbors. Way to give, New Hampshire!“
As part of their lead sponsorship, the NH Charitable Foundation provided two “Power of Many” cash awards of $1,000 each. Old Sol was recognized for engaging the most donors in the 24 hour period, with a total of 226 donors, and Friends of Mascoma Foundation raised the most dollars through the platform during the 24 hours, with a total of $12,620. 13 other cash prizes were awarded throughout the day.
“We thank all of the donors who came together through NH Gives to rally around our state’s nonprofits,” said Reardon. “The success of the initiative is a powerful reminder that each one of us can make a difference in our communities.
NH Gives is an initiative of the NH Center for Nonprofits with support from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation as platinum sponsor, St. Mary’s Bank as a bronze sponsor and media sponsors iHeartRadio, NH Public Television, The Union Leader, WMUR and Grappone Automotive Group.
