NH Center for Nonprofits DEI Survey

Letter from CEO Kathleen Reardon: March 9, 2021

Many conversations I am involved in lately have included recognition that a year has passed since the global pandemic was declared. It was a year in which the nonprofit sector collectively showed its true grit and resilience, stepping up to meet the needs of our communities without hesitation. It’s also been a year in which inequities and injustices prevalent in our society have been brought to the forefront.

We have heard from many nonprofit leaders who are seeking to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in their organizations. Some of you have been leading social justice efforts for a long time, while others are beginning to shape your focus. The Center’s board has created its own task force and we are walking alongside our members in our equity journey. We know that the work is both urgent and on-going.

With support from the Endowment for Health, the Center is working with local consultants the T. L. Hill Group and Organizational Ignition to examine how we can best assist nonprofits as they integrate equity and inclusion into their mission-driven work. We envision developing a strategy that meets organizations and leaders where they are and provides targeted, actionable resources to help advance your efforts.

To do this, we need your help. We ask that you complete a brief survey so we can better understand how you are currently addressing DEI within your organizations, and ways we can be of most assistance.  We hope you’ll help us learn:

  • What questions about DEI concepts and solutions have arisen in your organization?
  • What are the DEI issues your organization seeks to address?
  • What are the best ways for the NH Center for Nonprofits to provide DEI learning opportunities and capacity-building support?
  • What else would you like the NH Center for Nonprofits to know about your DEI needs and interests as it seeks to develop effective supports?

(Survey is now closed. Thank you to all who participated.)
