Spaulding Youth Center Honored with Grant from the Children’s Literacy Foundation to Host Campus Event

Spaulding Youth Center is excited to announce it was honored with the At-Risk Children grant from the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF). The grant included a storytelling event with one of CLiF’s professional storytellers, a discussion on the importance of reading together, tips for helping children develop strong literacy skills, a new onsite library of children’s books and two new books for each student.

New office space for City Year NH and Housing for AmeriCorps Members serving Manchester

Manchester residents Matt and Jody Wilhelm, members of Make It Better LLC, purchased the vacant building at 99-101 Manchester St. — the former site of Serenity Place — last month, and Wednesday held a launch party of sorts to discuss the plan for the site, which includes new office space for City Year New Hampshire and dormitory-style housing for AmeriCorps members serving in Greater Manchester.

Spaulding Youth Center Receives $5,000.00 Grant from Franklin Savings Bank

Spaulding Youth Center is excited to announce it has been honored with a grant of $5,000.00 through the FSB Fund for Community Advancement, the philanthropic arm of Franklin Savings Bank. The grant will directly support one of Spaulding’s equine therapy programs, Healing with Horses, provided through Lakes Region Riding Academy.
