New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits Launches CEO Search

Posted on: December 15th, 2014

The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits announced today the launch of a national search for Chief Executive Officer. The Center is a statewide organization that strengthens and gives voice to the nonprofit sector through leadership, collaboration and learning opportunities.

The CEO, working with an engaged and dedicated Board and staff, will develop and implement the Center’s vision, mission and goals. The CEO will replace Mary Ellen Jackson who has led the organization since 2005 and worked collaboratively with stakeholders to establish the Center as a credible voice for the sector and provider of quality leadership development services and resources.

Ms. Jackson will transition out of her role in late spring to pursue opportunities and new projects that support the nonprofit sector.

“We are looking for a bold and inspired leader who will effectively advocate for the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire and continue to bring high quality convening and leadership learning opportunities to the field,” said John Gilbert, Center Board Chair.

“More than 15 percent of NH’s workforce is employed by the nonprofit sector, and the scope of the services and the work conducted by nonprofits touches everyone’s life. Therefore, the Center represents organizations that are incredibly important to the vitality of the state in terms of both economic and community-building impact. We are seeking a dynamic leader dedicated to ensuring the vitality of the sector and the services it provides.”

“The Center has seen significant growth over the last decade” adds Grace Mattern, Co-Chair of the Search Committee. “Through creative and strategic leadership, the CEO has the opportunity to strengthen relationships between the nonprofits and the business, government and philanthropy communities.”

The position description is posted on the Center’s nonprofit jobs board. Resumes and letters of interest must be received by January 9th, 2015, at 5:00 PM. For further information contact Grace Mattern, Transition Committee Co-Chair, via email at or by calling (603) 828-6218.
