Dental Center at Families First Awarded $7,500

Portsmouth – TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® recently donated $7,500 to support dental care at Families First Health & Support Center. The Foundation has been supporting the Dental Center with annual grants since 2006.

Families First Dental Center served more than 2,000 patients last year. One of them, Jodie Consoles, recently said, “A few months ago I was blessed by the work I had done at the dental bus in Exeter and at the Families First dental office. Families First Dental made it affordable for me to have the work I needed done! …Our teeth are an important part of our health care. Having the kids room available for Sam to go to while I get my teeth worked on is wonderful as I can’t afford a sitter.”

The Foundation grant will help Families First provide dental care for low-income and uninsured patients. The Center is open to all children, teens, seniors (65+) and veterans living in Seacoast New Hampshire or Southern Maine, and to other adults if they live in Portsmouth and/or use Families First for primary care, mobile health care or home visiting.

Families First Health and Support Center provides primary, prenatal, behavioral and oral health care; parent and family groups; one-on-one family support; and mobile health care. Learn more at 603-422-8208 or www.familiesfirstseacoast.org.

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide support to affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and environmental initiatives, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
