Breathe New Hampshire Receives $6,000 Donation from EnviroVantage

To celebrate their 30th anniversary, EnviroVantage, an industrial, commercial and residential environmental services contractor, hosted a party. But Breathe New Hampshire, a nonprofit celebrating its centennial this year, got the presents.

The Epping company’s mission is to rid buildings and homes of contaminants. Breathe New Hampshire—the only nonprofit public health agency in the state dedicated solely to lung health--is all about clean air and healthy lungs.

“Breathe NH’s goal is to provide educational programs and support public health advocacy and research focused on preventing, eliminating, and treating lung disease,” EnviroVantage President and owner Scott Knightly said.

“Celebrating our longevity and progress of our common cause allows us to say ‘well done’ and continue the fight to preserve our living environment.”

The Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside was the setting for the January gala, with a silent auction for fun and competition. EnviroVantage donated all of the auction proceeds to Breathe NH, and further gave a donation for each person who attended, for a total of $6,000.

Breathe New Hampshire President and CEO Dan Fortin noted in his remarks that Breathe’s office, in the historic Amoskeag Locomotive Works building in the Manchester Millyard District, was designed with a clean environment in mind.

In 2014, it was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“We are pleased to have earned this distinction and are especially proud that we have been able to maintain our building’s historical integrity. LEED certification further enhances our organization’s commitment to clean air and lung health.”

Fortin added that EnviroVantage was the contractor responsible for “getting the lead out” of the building during renovation. Breathe NH is celebrating its 100th year of working to eliminate lung disease and improve the quality of life for those living with it.
