Senate Committee Recommends Against Board Training Bill

The Senate Public Works and Municipal Affairs Committee recently voted this year's mandated nonprofit board training bill, SB 17,  Inexpedient to Legislate. The Committee recommendation follows a January 21 hearing where there was strong opposition voiced on the repeat proposal to mandate board level training to nonprofits that receive $250,000 or more in public funding.

The bill now heads to the full Senate for a vote, scheduled for February 12, on the Committee recommendation. See the full statement from the NH Center for Nonprofits in opposition to the legislation.
