Letter to Gov. Hassan Regarding DHHS Commissioner Appointment

With news that DHHS Commissioner Nick Toumpas would not seek reappointment after his term concludes this January 2016, the NH Center for Nonprofits engaged the Governor's office regarding her nomination.

“As you consider the candidates for the next Commissioner of this critical department within your Administration, we respectfully request that you nominate a leader who understands the important partnership between the New Hampshire nonprofit sector and DHHS,” noted the letter from the Center's interim director Mike Ostrowski and board chair Grace Mattern.

The letter also noted the need to upgrade procurement practices, respect the indirect costs of contracting agencies and comply with the OMB Uniform Guidance on indirect costs for contracts that include federal resources. The Center will continue to engage on this important appointment.
