Full House Confirms Nonprofit Taxation Bill Referred to Interim Study

At the opening 2016 session, the House confirmed that HB 569 be referred to interim study. The bill, proposed by Representative Hess (R - Hooksett), would have subjected New Hampshire tax-exempt organizations with annual revenue, less grants and contributions, of $10 million to the Business and Enterprise Tax (BET). After retaining the bill for further consideration, the House Ways and Means Committee unanimously referred to interim study the bill by a vote of 17-0 in November. The NH Center for Nonprofits thanks the many members who successfully advocated to defeat this proposal.
