BET on NH Nonprofits Bill Retained in Committee

Following a strong showing of opposition to House Bill 569, the House Ways and Means Committee retained the bill in committee.

The bill, with its proposed amendment, would levy the BET on tax-exempt nonprofits with program and business related revenues, less grants and contributions, of $10 million. Impacted organizations would include service organizations for low income and vulnerable populations as well as colleges and hospitals.

The NH Center for Nonprofits will continue to monitor the legislation.
