Founded in 1963 to address the mental health care needs of the New Hampshire Seacoast, Seacoast Mental Health Center (SMHC) is one of ten non-profit state-designated community mental health centers (CMHCs) in New Hampshire. As a CMHC, we provide evaluations and treatment services to children, adolescents and families, adults, and the elderly who reside in our catchment area regardless of their ability to pay.

We have an immediate Opening for a Fee for Service Clinician position. This position will report directly to the Team Leader and the Adult Service Director.

Key Responsibilities

The ability to engage clients and family members with regard to evaluation and service provision in a brief, solution-focused model.
To make an accurate needs assessment and take steps in order to have these needs met. These needs are often diverse and will vary from on client to the next.
Will work a flexible schedule to ensure the continuity of care and optimal support services to the clients in an office setting.
Is part of the client’s treatment team and is responsible for relaying information through the appropriate channels. This may include attendance at team meetings or consultations with other providers as needed.
Will be required to attend supervision and in-service trainings as assigned.
Maintain and manage a clinical caseload at a level set by the Center and Adult Service’s Director. This will include management of clinical issues as well as financial issues.
Be competent in areas of diagnostic evaluation and individual therapy with adults 18 and over.
Maintain positive relationships with referral sources through both community and educational liaison activities.
Be aware of and adhere to state and federal mandates regarding service provisions.
Timely and current in record-keeping and administrative areas.
Meet the clinical performance standards as developed by the Center.

Education Requirements:

Master's degree in a mental health/human service field and licensed in the State of New Hampshire.
Three to five years’ experience in an outpatient mental health setting and specific experience with adults preferred.
Experience with provision of brief, solution-focused therapies required. CPR and First Aid training is recommended.
