Emergency Services Clinical Supervisor

Summary Statement

The Clinical Supervisor holds administrative and supervisory responsibilities that are shared with Senior Clinicians and the Director while completing crisis interventions and assessments for clients of CLM or other local agencies. In addition, this position will have some administrative/supervisory responsibilities which will include clinical supervision for licensure and being part of the Administrator On-Call Rotation. This is a full-time, 30-hour per week position based out of Parkland Medical Center, Monday thru Friday.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong psychosocial assessment skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and motivated with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professionals and clients/families;
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations;
  • Proficient computer skills;
  • Must have the ability to multi-task while working in an extremely fast-paced environment;
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a dynamic team.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in mental health field;
  • Licensure is required, LICSW or LCMHC;
  • 2 years full-time clinical experience post licensure;
  • Minimum of two years mental health experience with one year crisis intervention experience.
  • Advanced documentation skills and familiarity with data reports/spreadsheets;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

 Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The majority of the work takes place in an office setting; manual dexterity is needed to use computers and standard office equipment.  The ability to sit for extended periods of time is required.  Reliable transportation is required, as a majority of the work is completed at Parkland Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties

  • Provide face to face lethality assessments at CLM and/or at Parkland Medical Center;
  • Evaluate suicide lethality and appropriateness for involuntary admission into state facilities;
  • Coordinate, where appropriate, client access to agency services;
  • Execute all required services and documentation in accordance with agency policies and federal and state standards;
  • Collaborating with PMC ED director, BHU director to insure smooth service delivery and maintaining contractual obligations;
  • Provides training to new team members, provides ongoing performance feedback and formal annual performance appraisals in conjunction with the director for team members;
  • Assures that team members fulfill their functions professionally and in a manner that protects the integrity, confidentiality, and rights of all clients;
  • Assures that clinical documentation is completed accurately, on a timely basis and in compliance with appropriate CLM, federal, state and other pertinent standards;
  • Ensures that services provided comply with all federal and state regulatory standards and statutes.  Adheres to the Center’s Code of Ethics;
  • Maintains professional memberships, licenses, accreditation, certifications, etc;
  • Creates a team culture that supports growth and development of team members to better meet the needs of CLM clients, families and communities;
  • Serves on appropriate committees, both internal and external, as determined by the program director;
  • Represents CLM in a professional and appropriate manner in the community;
  • Some shifts may include the provision of Crisis Stabilization services on-site at CLM;
  • All shifts require the management of crisis calls as a component of this position;
  • Shifts available include weekday, weeknight, and weekend (night/day) shifts;
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
