Training Assistant

NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association

The New Hampshire Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association (NHADACA) is a non-profit, federally tax exempt 501(c)3 organization in good standing.  For more than 30 years, NHADACA has worked to advance the substance use professions in New Hampshire. We accomplish our mission through education and advocacy, a focus on workforce development and adherence to high ethical standards. By providing relevant, quality training on substance abuse treatment, recovery, intervention and prevention NHADACA has improved the skills of both working substance use professionals and those preparing to enter the profession. In 2003, the New Hampshire Training Institute on Addictive Disorders (NHTIAD) was established as the training and professional development arm of NHADACA in order to increase access to high quality trainings for substance use professionals. Since that time, we have become a state leader in addiction education through development, coordination and sponsorship of continuing education and training for substance use professionals and other service providers in NH.   NHADACA's mission is to provide quality education, workforce development, advocacy, ethical standards and leadership for addiction professionals.  We empower efforts in prevention, treatment and recovery.

Full time position for training assistant with a training institute for addiction professionals.  The assistant works with the Training Director, Training Coordinators, Executive Director and other NHTIAD staff at the NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association to assist in registration, maintaining databases and the implementation of a series of training events. 

  • Associates degree in a human services or business management-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in varied office work including experience in training implementation and/or the substance abuse profession. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer skills sufficient to assist with maintenance of webinar platforms, meeting management software, MS Access and MS Excel databases and as well as to provide technical support at training events.  Familiarity with Zoom and Adobe Connect helpful.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to meet light to medium physical demands of training set-up to include moving chairs and tables, light cleaning/trash removal and carrying training equipment and materials.
  • Support the general functions of the Training Institute as a whole.
  • Perform training related activities such as data entry, preparing and sending invoices and accounts receivable.
  • Support functions needed to implement regularly scheduled training events such as preparing participant materials, assisting with participant registration, equipment and room set-up and presenter support.
  • Gather and summarize evaluation data to prepare reports and documents used in training review and decision-making.
  • Review and reply to correspondence and perform public relations duties, such as attendance and representation at exhibit tables for various workforce development events.
  • Miscellaneous tasks with other staff that may include cleaning, answering phones, opening mail and answering emails.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Training Coordinator and the Board of Directors of NHADACA

Salary Range:

$13-$17 per hour commensurate with experience
