Training Coordinator

NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association

The New Hampshire Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association (NHADACA) is a non-profit, federally tax exempt 501(c)3 organization in good standing.  For more than 30 years, NHADACA has worked to advance the substance use professions in New Hampshire. We accomplish our mission through education and advocacy, a focus on workforce development and adherence to high ethical standards. By providing relevant, quality training on substance abuse treatment, recovery, intervention and prevention NHADACA has improved the skills of both working substance use professionals and those preparing to enter the profession. In 2003, the New Hampshire Training Institute on Addictive Disorders (NHTIAD) was established as the training and professional development arm of NHADACA in order to increase access to high quality trainings for substance use professionals. Since that time, we have become a state leader in addiction education through development, coordination and sponsorship of continuing education and training for substance use professionals and other service providers in NH.   NHADACA's mission is to provide quality education, workforce development, advocacy, ethical standards and leadership for addiction professionals.  We empower efforts in prevention, treatment and recovery.

Full-time coordinator of training for substance use and ancillary professionals. The coordinator works with the Executive Director, NHTIAD Director and other staff as well as funders to identify training needs for the profession/community of ancillary professionals and set up and implement a series of training events. This is a full-time temporary position contingent upon contract funding.

  • Bachelors degree in business/marketing or human services field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in training implementation and/or the substance use profession. 
  • Conversant in the areas of substance use prevention, treatment and recovery.
  • Familiar with the performance domains and core competencies associated with NH prevention, treatment and recovery credentials, as well as other related credentials.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong administrative/organizational skills.
  • Computer skills sufficient to assist with website maintenance, conduct webinars using Adobe Connect, marketing campaigns and data entry/Access database and event management systems.  Familiarity with Zoom or other training/meeting management platform helpful.
  • Experience with the publication of a newsletter and/or desktop publishing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to meet light to medium physical demands of training set-up to include moving chairs and tables, light cleaning, taking out garbage and carrying training equipment and materials.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to implement trainings happening outside of Concord, NH (~25%)
  • Support the general functions of the NH Training Institute on Addictive Disorders(NHTIAD)  and the NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association (NHADACA) as a whole
  • Set up and implement training events within NH, mostly in Concord, NH but includes off-site locations as well
  • Perform training related activities such as creating & printing forms, preparing CE applications, registration and maintaining databases
  • Contact, contract with and arrange for trainers for planned training events
  • Disseminate electronic information and published brochures regarding training events.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a website
  • Conduct webinars and other technology-based training opportunities
  • Administrative and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, NHTIAD Director and the Board of Directors of NHADACA
