Writing News Releases

Presented by: Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications

Have you ever wondered why some news releases make it into the media and others go nowhere?

This day-long workshop will help land your release in the news, not in the trash.

With reporters buried in news releases, instructors Stacy Milbouer and Tom Long will offer proven suggestions on how to stand out by delivering messages quickly, clearly and concisely. With all readers pressed for time, they also will discuss insider tricks about how to write releases that are informative, compelling and most importantly, keep the reader's interest.

Stacy and Tom are writers/contributing editors for Fiddlehead Magazine. Both are former reporters and columnists for various regional publications including The Boston Globe and The Telegraph of Nashua, where they received more than their fair share of press releases – some good, and some that could benefit from this class.
