NHFPI Board of Directors Names AnnMarie French Executive Director

Concord – The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) Board of Directors announces that AnnMarie French has been named executive director.

A search committee, chaired by NHFPI Board Member Peggy Walsh, Assistant Dean for the School of Sciences and Social Sciences at Keene State College, worked in collaboration with Concord-based Full Circle Consulting to conduct a five-month nationwide search utilizing state- and national-level fiscal policy and decision-maker networks as well as broad recruiting for the position.

“I’m delighted that AnnMarie is going to be leading NHFPI into the future,” said Michael Coughlin, President and CEO of Crotched Mountain Foundation and Chair of NHFPI’s Board of Directors. “AnnMarie has done an exceptional job leading the organization this past year, successfully increasing organizational funding support and strengthening partnerships to advance the organization’s mission. We’re looking forward to taking NHFPI’s work to the next level through AnnMarie’s leadership.”

AnnMarie has served as interim executive director since early December 2017. Previously, she served as NHFPI’s communications manager since joining the organization in January 2014. AnnMarie has spent nearly two decades working with local governments and organizations focused on the public sector, and she has a strong understanding of the role public investment plays in enhancing access to opportunity and improving health and well-being.

“NHFPI plays a vital role in the public policy landscape in New Hampshire, providing reliable analysis and insight that fosters a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the state and the needs of residents with low and moderate incomes,” said AnnMarie French. “I look forward to continuing to guide NHFPI’s work and to forging additional partnerships that will increase engagement in these issues and enhance New Hampshire’s ability to improve the health and well-being of children, families, and our most vulnerable residents.”

Prior to joining NHFPI, AnnMarie held communications roles with the New Hampshire Municipal Association, where she served as editor for New Hampshire Town and City magazine and a range of resource publications for local government staff and officials. She previously worked for the City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development, providing communications and marketing support for neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, and business and economic development programs.
