Concord Community Music School Welcomes Two New Trustees

Concord - Concord Community Music School is pleased to welcome two new trustees: Kass Ardinger and Matt Leahy.

In addition, the following trustees serve as officers of the board: Jennifer Melkonian, chair; Virginia S. Sheehan, vice chair; Cheryl C. Cornish, clerk; and W. John Funk, treasurer.

Kass Ardinger, a resident of Concord since 1989, grew up in Claremont, NH. She graduated from Dartmouth College and George Washington University Law School. After working at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, DC, she moved with her family to New Hampshire, where she has been actively involved with many non-profit organizations, most benefitting children and families, such as HEAR In New Hampshire, Child and Family Services and St. Paul’s food pantry. Kass has a strong background in education policy and practice, serving for nine years on the Concord School Board, five as president. She was recently elected treasurer of the Concord School District and currently serves as a Commissioner on the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Kass and her husband Bill, former chairman of the Music School’s board of trustees, have three children, all of whom have taken lessons at the Music School.

Matt Leahy is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, currently serving as Public Policy Manager for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Prior to this role, Matt served as a public policy advisor to former US Senator Judd Gregg and more recently with New Hampshire’s current senior US Senator Jeanne Shaheen. At the Forest Society, Matt works on public policy research and advocacy. He lives in Concord with his wife Deb and their two children, who are both former and current students of the Music School.

Other members of the Music School board of trustees include: Julia Burdick, M.D.; Nick Perencevich, M.D.; and Hannah Schramm Murray, faculty representative.
