Coordinator

Pro Portsmouth

Pro Portsmouth, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and sustaining the vitality of Portsmouth's arts, culture and history through events and community collaboration.

We produce a number of the Seacoast’s largest Downtown events: Children’s Day, Market Square Day Festival & 10K Road Race, Summer in the Street and First Night® Portsmouth.


Communicates and advocates the Mission of Pro Portsmouth, as well as the volunteer needs of the organization through the following:

  • Recruits, organizes, trains, motivates and supervises volunteers for all Pro Portsmouth events. Includes managing and maintaining the volunteer database.
  • Participates in the preparation and planning of all Pro Portsmouth events: Children’s Day, Market Square Day, Summer in the Street and First Night® Portsmouth.  
  • Works with Executive Director on development efforts to raise restricted and unrestricted gifts for Pro Portsmouth in support of the organization’s priorities, including work with individual donors, government agencies, foundations; experience with grant writing is a plus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a part-time hourly paid position.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work with and command the respect of volunteers, vendors, City officials, and Board members.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong project management/organizational skills.  Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
  • Creativity and problem solving skills.
