STRIDES was founded in summer 2010 in Newton, NH. Our goal is to rescue and rehabilitate horses from auction, slaughter and neglect. Once the horses have recuperated, they are evaluated and put into training for 60 days. They are then put up for adoption and placed into permanent homes under contract. We also plan to open up the idea of "rescue horses" to our local community by having family days and possibly seminars in spring 2011. We will launch a children/teen program and an affordable lesson program to encourage interaction.

We have just finished land clearing and the new paddocks are now going up to take in more rescues! We have also just placed our first two surrenders and we have a new addition to STRIDES - Mystique is a dappled grey Spanish pony who will be looking for a loving, permanent home within the next few months.
