Easter Seals New Hampshire -  Changing the lives of people living with disabilities

Easter SealsEaster Seals is the most comprehensive statewide nonprofit organization that provides services to children, adults, and seniors with disabilities and special needs. We are always there, meeting the most difficult challenges, creating innovative programs, and delivering critical services that benefit the entire family. We provide help, hope and answers so people with special needs can live more independent lives.

We embrace the challenge of helping people with disabilities and other special needs through our expertise in providing services and support to individuals or all ages and families. We are committed to meeting the needs of all our clients to ensure that no one falls through the cracks or is denied help.

The spirit of caring is at the heart of Easter Seals New Hampshire. It is this deeply felt desire to improve the lives of others that inspires our family of volunteers, donors, corporate friends, staff, and clients and their families as we work together to change lives.

Easter Seals New Hampshire is an innovative seven-state organization including NH, VT, ME, RI, NY and the Harbor Schools programs in Massachusetts and Coastal Fairfield County, CT. We are recognized as the largest and most progressive Easter Seals in the world.

In 2010, we touched the lives of more than 23,000 individuals of all ages throughout the state and provided more than $4.1 million dollars in free and reduced-price services to children and adults in need.  At 18 New Hampshire locations, Easter Seals employs and contracts with nearly 1,400 people.

For more than 26 years, the National Health Council ranked Easter Seals first among its members for the percentage of program dollars spent on direct client services. Every penny raised stays in New Hampshire to benefit Granite State residents.

Every day we strive to give families hope. From birth to seniors, we are passionate about helping the people who need us most at all stages of life.

What Our Clients & Families Have to Say
“Easter Seals made us feel like a family again. Easter Seals made me feel like a mom again. Easter Seals gave me hope for my family and hope for my son.”
--Kelli, mom of an Early Intervention client

“Mike came home from camp last year with so much pride in what he had accomplished, so much appreciation for the people he knew before and the new ones he met. He bonded with them and it was a happy time for him.
--Betty M. (Mike’s mom)

“Through the connections I have made in the Family Support Program, I am able to maintain my sanity and even manage to find humor again. Being with people who share the same challenges is critical to all members of my family.”
--Mary Ellen, mother of Jeremy, age 11

“Thomas would not be the man he is today if it were not for the love, kindness and tough love that the teachers and staff have given him.  The people at Easter Seals not only support Thomas but they are there for me also. Everyone there is a godsend, an angel. They take these kids and form them into great people. Sometimes the world forgets about students with disabilities. At Easter Seals, they don't do that—they care.”

--Lynn Ducasse, mom

“What a blessing to my family to have a resource like Easter Seals to be there for us during this transitional time—before my husband deploys and when he returns. Easter Seals’ rapid response to our needs was professionally and adequately given. Easter Seals has already given me hope and faith that we will be OK and won’t face the same chaos, fears and loneliness I faced two years ago the first time my husband was deployed. Knowing that I have support feels like a huge burden has been lifted.”
--LilyBeth Nowack, wife of an Iraq veteran

“This job makes me feel important. I want to stay here forever.”

--Jessica, vocational services client

“Before I came to Easter Seals I used to sit in a chair all day long at home, sleep and generally not see anyone all week. My life has been greatly enriched by coming here.”
--Rose, Adult Day participant
