The Claremont Senior Center strives to uphold and maintain leadership, as well as a positive relationship with the Claremont community. We provide the highest quality Senior News that is informative, entertaining, attractive and easy to read. We also strive to provide programs and services that are geared for all the senior citizens of Claremont and the surrounding area. Our vision is to make the community aware of our services and to increase our membership.
Our organization was founded by Cecelia Mozden and was incorporated in 1997. The Center is a place to meet and greet peers and socialize. We provide a variety of services to seniors 55 and older including:
General membership meetings monthly, social hour, lunches bi-weekly, all kinds of card games and board games, an exercise program bi-weekly, bingo games weekly, pool table, ping pong bi-weekly, educational seminars, health related clinics and research information as needed.
We house three tenants: Miracle Ear, Weight Watchers and Connecticut Valley Home Care (CVHC). CVHC offers foot clinics 3 times a week and blood pressure checks monthly. The American Red Cross conducts blood draws 6 times yearly at our facility and AARP offers free tax help yearly at our facility. We are also available for rental events such as weddings, parties, seminars, funeral receptions and the like. We have fully equipped kitchen facilities.
As we are self-supporting, we sponsor monthly fundraisers to benefit the senior center. We are staffed by volunteers and we encourage and welcome the support of the community.
