The mission of the Carroll County Coaltion for Public Health is to build the public health infrastructure in Carroll County through community partnerships. We were formed in March, 2009 and are supported through state and federal funds that focus primarily on emergency preparedness. We provide leadership and coordination to improve the readiness of regional, county and local public health response partners in order to minimize health consequences in the event of a public health emergency. Our long term goal is to improve the health of the people, prevent disease and reduce costs for all.
The Carroll County Coalition for Public Health is best known for its efforts this past winter in response to H1N1. Achieving the third highest per population vaccination rate in the state out of the fifteen Public Health Networks has resulted in strong regional partnerships which will serve as the foundation for addressing other public health initiatives.
