Imagine
being born in 1906 and having the dream of a ride on a Harley come true
in 2006. In the eyes of the Ageless Dreamer™ Foundation, that is an
attitude worth having™ and just one of |
the
dreams the Foundation was able to fulfill. And our Harley riding
ageless dreamer is planning on another ride in 2007, this time she’ll
be age 101! Celebrating the beginning of its second year on Jan. 10,
2007, the Ageless Dreamer™ Foundation has a vision to redefine the age
old definition of old age™ by making dreams come true for our oldest
generation. Highlighting the many dreams and activities of those born
prior to 1937, this organization re-engages our oldest generation back
into the communities they helped to build. Membership
driven, any one of any age, can show their support of the Ageless
Dreamer’s mission for only $ 12. Per year. The member decal can be
displayed on a car, home, or business window identifying you as an
Ageless Dreamer™. Tribute and Memorial cards are also available,
honoring someone you know who lives life with an attitude worth having™. The
Ageless Dreamer™ Foundation expects to move into the McConnell
Community Center by early February, along with its first Executive
Director. They will continue to set the bar of excellence and protocol
for what is being positioned to grow to a national level. Grassroots
and membership driven, the Foundation welcomes the energy, skills, and
talents of anyone interested in being part of a volunteer Dream Force
facilitating selected dream requests.
Much of the charter year
was dedicated to being certain that all legal aspects of establishing
the Foundation were in place, including it’s 501(c)3 status, a strong
Board of Trustees, and action oriented volunteers facilitating dream
making activities. The Board of Trustees currently have the
interesting, yet challenging role of reviewing and selecting dreams
submitted on the “I Know Someone with a Dream Request” applications.
The facilitation process begins with making contact with the person who
submitted the dream on someone’s behalf.
Dream activities this
past charter year included an Art Gallery Opening for three Dover
artists born 1913, 1916, and 1917. Complete with a Champagne toast and
hors d’oeuvres, over two hundred people visited Alexander Lake Design
Gallery during the three hour opening. Do you know an artist(s), born
prior to 1937, who dreams of having a gallery opening in their local
area? Ageless Dreamer would like to know about them.
Watch for
information for a fundraising event planned for mid September. Our
first annual Walk For The Dream….Any way you can! will be held at Great
Island Commons, New Castle, NH. Any one born prior to 1937 will be
invited to walk and each step they take will be counted using donated
pedometers. Canes, walkers, wheelchairs are all welcome to
participate. For those not interested in walking outside, Activity
Directors can orchestrate the event that day using their own
hallways. Corporate sponsors will have an opportunity to receive the
Attitude Seal of Approval™ for their generous participation. These
sponsors will be able to use the seal shown below on their own
advertisements alerting the viewing and buying public of their support
of the Ageless Dreamer Foundation.
