A Place for Possibilities is a 501 (c) 3 educational nonprofit corporation founded in 2005 that offers education, resources, and capacity building in order to build a better community that is grounded in the timeless American ideals of freedom, personal responsibility, neighborliness, and thrift. We encourage individuals, families, and organizations to embrace an inclusive, deistic spirituality and a common sense approach in order to build an enlightened and prosperous community.
Our organization functions both as a "think tank" for the dissemination of common sense conservative ideas and as a capacity-building resource for communities, organizations, and individuals. While A Place for Possibilities is a non-sectarian and non-religious community organization, it might be helpful to think of a Place for Possibilities as a "secular church," that in addition to providing education and resources, offers a sense of community and meaning-making.
We envision creating several "rooms" at A Place for Possibilities, each with a different audience and then tailoring our message and our resources to that specific audience. In our Professional Helpers Room we provide educational resources for talk therapists, organizations, and other human services professionals and paraprofessionals that support them in their efforts to engage in ways of working that both reflect and promote the American ideals of freedom, individual responsibility, neighborliness, and thrift. We are a non-sectarian, non-religious organization. We do not require supporters to subscribe to a religious test, nor do we exclude anyone that does not believe in God. We advocate the advancement of what we believe are universal truths that are inscribed in our U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence because we believe they are bedrock principles that lead to individual happiness and build healthy communities.
There are many excellent organizations already bringing their messages to settings that are sympathetic to like-minded ideals. Our transparent goal is to change the hearts and minds of people from across the socio-political spectrum, who might be attracted to common sense conservative ideas but are stuck in tribal thinking. We try to accomplish our goal through education and assertive thoughtful persuasion, which is a method that is deeply rooted in our American democratic tradition. The internet is the modern day printing press, and thus we embrace the full power of this new media to advance our message.
