Mandatory Board Training Bill Goes to Interim Study |
Within the final weeks of activity, the full House sent SB177, the bill that would subject organizations that receive more than $250,000 in aggregate of governmental funding, to Interim Study on a voice vote.
After passing through its Senate committee (Executive Departments and Administration) on a vote of 5-0 and the full Senate on a voice vote, the bill became stalled in the House. SB177 was highly debated and discussed in two subcommittee sessions by the House Executive Department and Administration's Rules Committee. Subcommittee members took input from a variety of nonprofit representatives and governmental officials, and in the end, deemed that there were too many unanswered questions and concerns around the legislation. The Committee made a recommendation of Interim Study on a vote of 13-0, which the House has now adopted. |
