The Super Committee Fails to Reach Consensus

November 29, 2011 - The co-chairs of the Super Committee of Congress admitted defeat last week by announcing that the panel was unable to reach agreement on a package of spending cuts, tax increases, and entitlement reforms to generate $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction, as mandated by the Budget Control Act passed last August.
