Guinta In Favor of Charitable Tax Deduction

Congressman Frank Guinta"Preserving the charitable tax deduction is one area that I strongly support," stated Congressman Frank Guinta at the Center’s recent Nonprofit Capitol Exchange program. "It clearly is a major incentive for people to give." The Congressman also referenced public safety, health care delivery on the local level, and education as areas he is committed to supporting.

During his address to over thirty nonprofit leaders and advocates at the Nonprofit Capitol Exchange Program this week, Congressman Guinta made a strong case for a nonpartisan approach in finding long term solutions. "In order to really work our way out of the current financial crisis, we need factual information on where the country really stands, what are real options are, and then we as policy makers need to concentrate on the subject matter at hand."

Outlining the timeline for the budget discussions, the Congressman told the crowd that the time is now to express to his office individual concerns; there will be a great deal of work in the months ahead for Congress, and February and March will be particularly critical months.

The Nonprofit Capitol Exchange is the Center's leadership series where nonprofit leaders, policy-makers and business partners gather for the opportunity to learn about current challenges, initiatives and updates from NH’s elected and professional government officials. The next in series will feature New Hampshire Senator Jeb Bradley (R- Wolfeboro) on December 6, 2011.
