Nonprofit Impact Award Winners Announced

Concord - The 2017 Nonprofit Impact Awards were presented by the NH Center for Nonprofits to two individuals and two organizations on April 4th at the annual Nonprofit Impact Celebration held to recognize the impact of the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire. The awards are presented each year to honor remarkable people and nonprofit organizations that have made outstanding contributions to their communities.

“The Nonprofit Impact Awards celebrate the vision, strategy and innovation that we see throughout the nonprofit sector,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the NH Center for Nonprofits. “Each of the honorees has made an extraordinary impact on our state by leading and serving with passion and purpose.”

The New Hampshire Impact Award was presented to Hal Jordan, former President and CEO of the Granite YMCA in honor of his work creating opportunities for youth and families to thrive. Throughout his career, Jordan has fostered creative partnerships that meet community needs, bridge gaps and help people across the lifespan make meaningful change.

The Board Impact Award was presented to Mary Jo Brown, board chair of the NH Women’s Foundation to recognize her role guiding the organization through two successive mergers to build a single-statewide nonprofit focused on promoting opportunity and equality for women and girls. Brown’s leadership in bringing new voices to the organization has contributed to the organization’s strength.

The Nonprofit Impact Award was presented to NH Community Loan Fund to recognize its significant impact leveraging resources that have enabled traditionally underserved people to participate more fully in New Hampshire’s economy. One of the first statewide loan funds in the United States, the NH Community Loan Fund’s success is built upon the organization’s belief in its borrowers, its diverse partnerships with New Hampshire institutions and its unique approach of raising loan capital from individual investors.

New this year, the Healthy Community Impact Award, presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care was presented to Community Volunteer Transportation Company to recognize its impact providing transportation services in the Monadnock region. Using volunteer drivers, CVTC provides access to services, which improve the health, independence and well-being of its riders.

The evening was made possible through the generous support of platinum sponsors Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Eastern Bank, gold sponsor E&S Insurance Services and silver sponsors Bellwether Community Credit Union and Hession & Pare.

The NH Center for Nonprofits is a statewide nonprofit association dedicated to advancing the impact and visibility of the nonprofit sector and supporting the growth of nonprofits to reach their mission.
