Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund is pleased to announce that Marcy Meyer has joined its team as Director of Asset Development.
Ms. Meyer, a Stoddard resident, brings to the Community Loan Fund considerable experience managing housing and community development programs. Most recently, she was Vice President of Membership and Coalition Relations for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and Director of Program Budget and Compliance for the Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc.
She was educated at Wesleyan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government, and at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, where she earned a Master of Social Work degree in Community Organization and Development.
At the Community Loan Fund, Ms. Meyer leads an experienced three-person team that coordinates New Hampshire’s Individual Development Account (IDA) Collaborative. The collaborative, started in 2001, offers a matched saving program and consumer education through which low-income people can save for a home or a car, for post-secondary education, or to start or expand a business.
“IDA accounts are one of the best opportunities we offer low-income families to move up the economic ladder and achieve long-term stability and security,” said Community Loan Fund President Juliana Eades. “We’re very excited to have Marcy working with our 16 community partners to make the IDA program as effective and accessible as possible.”
IDA participants receive a $3-to-$1 cash match once they have created a savings plan, met their goal, and attended trainings on economic literacy and asset management. Since 2001, 259 participants have bought homes, 86 individuals were able to support their small businesses, and 41 people pursued post-secondary education.
The Community Loan Fund, a statewide nonprofit organization based in Concord, connects people and families with the loans, training and advice that allow them to buy and keep homes, have secure jobs and become economically stable.
