 NH Charitable Foundation Names Robin Abbott as Director of Gift Planning

Robin AbbottConcord, NH - The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has named Robin Abbott, of Merrimack, N.H., to the position of director of gift planning. In this role, Abbott will work closely with a network of professional advisors, including trust and estate attorneys, corporate attorneys, wealth managers, financial managers and CPAs to assist donors with charitable gift planning. 

Her professional experience includes financial and investment management work; she has also worked in nonprofit philanthropy and communications. “Her expertise in all these areas make her a sound partner to assist donors and professional advisors with current and planned gifts, including gifts of complex assets,” said Shari Landry, vice president of philanthropy.
 
A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Abbott began her career as a financial advisor with Fidelity Investments working with high net worth individuals and focusing primarily on wealth management and estate planning. She later moved to UBS PaineWebber, where she concentrated on merger and acquisition divestiture strategies and special needs life planning.
 
Recently, Abbott moved into the field of development and communications, holding senior level philanthropy positions at Gateways Community Services and Crotched Mountain Foundation. Immediately prior to joining the Foundation, Abbott served as the director of community relations for Families in Transition, where she was responsible for overseeing the organization’s public relations efforts, community outreach and branding strategies, which included overhauling the organization's logo, tagline and website.

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation serves communities throughout New Hampshire, southeastern Maine and eastern Vermont. The Foundation manages a growing collection of charitable funds created by individuals, families and businesses, and awards about $30 million annually in grants and scholarships.
