Grant Award Will Help Revitalize Manchester’s West Granite Neighborhood

NeighborWorks Greater ManchesterManchester, NH – NeighborWorks Greater Manchester announced today that the organization is a recipient of a 2009 Housing for Everyone Award from the TD Charitable Foundation. The non-profit organization is being recognized by TD Bank for its efforts to revitalize Manchester’s West Granite area, a neighborhood that has experienced significant decline in recent years due to a high rate of absentee landlords and foreclosures.  A $20,000 grant accompanied the award, and will be utilized as part of a comprehensive strategy to redevelop dilapidated properties in the neighborhood.

“This award from the TD Charitable Foundation provides support for our efforts to revitalize a neglected Manchester neighborhood and bring back homeownership where it once thrived,” states Robert Tourigny, Executive Director of NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester.  “Residents are involved in our plans, and we appreciate the generous investment in our community that this award represents,” continues Tourigny.
