The Monadnock Adolescent Treatment Initiative (MATI), a substance abuse treatment program for adolescents and young adults, welcomes Mike Marchand, Youth Development Coach, to the MATI team. Mike has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and over six years of experience working with youth in educational settings. Mike will support MATI clients in their recovery by involving them in alternative youth development activities (hiking, ropes courses, biking, kayaking, etc) and career and social skill building activities. The MATI program serves youth ages 12-24 with alcohol and other drug problems. The program is community-based, utilizes evidence-based assessment and treatment activities, and takes place over 12 weeks with an additional 9 months of after care support. The program is a collaboration of Phoenix House-Keene Center and Monadnock Family Services and is funded by New Futures through the NH Charitable Foundation, and the NH Department of Health and Human Services.
