Manchester, NH - St. Mary’s Bank today announced it gave $2,500 to Liberty House Inc., a transitional home for veterans in Manchester, to renovate the facility’s kitchen.

With the ability to house up to ten homeless veterans, Liberty House is a non-profit organization offering transitional housing, medical care and job assistance for vets in New Hampshire.

“At Liberty House, our residents become like family to one another, providing a supportive community and a positive environment that fosters commitment to their goals and aspirations,” said Bill Zarakotas, Program Director. “With donations from local businesses like St. Mary’s Bank, we will be able to increase the quality of life of our veterans by giving them access to the tools they need to become self-sufficient. We’re grateful to St. Mary’s for helping make this kitchen renovation possible.”

Liberty House receives nearly 80 percent of its funding from individual donations and grants from private foundations. It also relies on financial support and in-kind services from state veterans’ groups and service organizations.
