Concord, NH—March 27, 2008—HNHfoundation announces the election of their new board chair, Ms. Valerie A. Long of Epsom, NH.
Ms. Long is the Nutrition Coordinator for the New Hampshire Food Stamp Nutrition Education grant, which provides nutrition and food safety education to food stamp recipients throughout New Hampshire. Ms. Long serves as Extension Professor Emeritus for UNH Cooperative Extension providing leadership for nutrition programming for low-income audiences, and is Adjunct Professor for NH Technical and Community College where she teaches personal nutrition. Ms. Long has received several awards including NH Home Economist of the Year and NH Dietitian of the Year and is an active community volunteer and committee member. She received her Registered Dietitian certification from the American Dietetic Association and her Graduate Degree in Occupational Education with an emphasis in adult education from the University of New Hampshire.
Ms. Long has served on the HNHfoundation board of directors since 2005. She has been an active member of the Executive Committee, Planning Committee, and Governance Committee as well as serving several years as Board Secretary.
Also elected as Officers were Ms. Karen M. Reed, Vice-Chair; Ms. Barbara T. Reid, Treasurer; and Ms. Linda Pimenta, Secretary.
