Concord, NH – Consumer Credit Counseling Services of NH & VT received $2,000 from  Sovereign Bank’s Foundation to support credit counseling in communities throughout NH.

Funding received will assist CCCS of NH & VT cover the cost of offering free credit, budget and financial counseling to families in New Hampshire. The majority of the services offered by CCCS of NH & VT are free to consumers. In today’s economic reality the agency has seen the need for its services increase to record numbers. “December has been historically a slow month for appointments, however, this past December CCCS of NH & VT scheduled 687 appointments through its networks of 14 offices in both states.” said Ken Belanger, Director of Operations for the agency.

From July 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 CCCS of NH & VT had scheduled 4,331 appointments, a 9% increase from that same period a year ago. About 80% of those appointments are offered free to consumers.
