Bank of America Charitable Foundation donates $10,000 to Breakthrough Manchester Breakthrough Manchester at The Derryfield School (formerly Summerbridge) announces its kick-off of its annual school-year program to help students on the college path. Each year, 46 Manchester 10-year olds compete to complete homework during their summer vacations. Undaunted by 11-page applications and individual interviews, they connect their dreams of college with their plans for the summer and school-year, committing to a six-week summer session and multiple school-year sessions at Breakthrough Manchester, in exchange for rigorous classes and seven years of ongoing support to prepare them to succeed in school and attend college. For the second year in a row, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 to make Breakthrough Manchester possible. Read more...

Sovereign Bank Strengthens Club’s Educational and Career Programs Nashua, NH - The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has received a $5,000 grant from the Sovereign Bank Foundation to support educational and career development programs. Annually at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, nearly 600 children complete their homework and are provided with tutors, remedial help, computers and other academic support to be prepared for participation in class. MicroCredit-NH Hires Regional Manager Concord, NH – MicroCredit-NH has hired Peggy O’Keefe of Rindge as Regional Manager. O’Keefe works with MicroCredit-NH members and community partners in the southern region of the state, covering the area from Claremont and Keene to Manchester and Nashua. Boys & Girls Club Elects Officers and Board Members; Honors Volunteer Steven Densberger Nashua, NH - At the Annual Meeting, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua welcomed new board members and officers and thanked departing board members for their service. Board member Steven Densberger was recognized as the year’s most outstanding supporter of the Club with the coveted Man/Woman & Youth award, given each year to the person in the community who best exemplifies commitment to advancing the Club’s mission. Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund Awards Nearly $1 Million in Grants Concord, NH - The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, a donor advised fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, has awarded 18 grants totaling $993,964. Grants were awarded to organizations throughout northern New Hampshire and Vermont in the fields of economic development, conservation and sustainable forestry, education and basic needs and community safety net. Crotched Mountain Foundation Receives Grant from BAE Systems Greenfield, NH - Crotched Mountain Foundation, which operates a specialty rehabilitation hospital in Greenfield, is receiving a grant of $25,000 from BAE systems in support of its work with veterans.The funds will support Crotched Mountain's Center for Excellence in Neurorehabilitation, which is a national model of the continuum of services required to support people who have experienced brain injuries. Endowment for Health Awards More Than $900,000 To Fund Health-Related Projects Across NH Concord, NH – The Endowment for Health, New Hampshire’s largest health foundation, recently awarded more than $900,000 to fund various health-related projects around the state of New Hampshire.
