Application Writing Workshops for Nonprofits, Cooperatives, and Municipalities
Concord, NH - The Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) is conducting two Pre-application Writing Workshops for its Tax Credit Program, also known as the Community Development Investment Program. The program grants state tax credits to nonprofits, cooperatives, and certain municipal entities for affordable housing and community economic development projects that benefit low- and moderate-income New Hampshire citizens. HNH foundation Awards More Than $779,000 to New Hampshire Non-Profits
Concord, NH - The HNHfoundation awarded more than $779,000 in grants during its 2008 program year. The grant awards benefit various health-related initiatives and projects at 12 non-profit organizations and government agencies throughout New Hampshire. Grants were awarded for work in three focus areas: breaking down barriers to health insurance coverage for children; providing health-related public education; and promoting healthy lifestyles. Nonprofit Leader Named Citizen of the Year
The Manchester Chamber of Commerce named Brian Tremblay as the 2008 Citizen of the Year at their Annual Dinner on February 10th. Brian currently serves as the director of development at the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester. Brian was recognized for his compassion, dedication, inspiration, enthusiasm and selfless service to others. Congratulation to Brian on receiving this honor.
New Hampshire Charitable Foundation Awards $1.8 Million in Competitive Grants
Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has announced the recipients of its most recent competitive grant cycle. A total of more than $1.8 million in 137 grants has been awarded to organizations serving statewide in a wide variety of areas, as well as organizations serving seven specific regions of the state. Boys & Girls Club Receives Oracle Community Impact Grant
Nashua, NH - The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has received a prestigious grant from Oracle announced Club CEO, Norm Bouthilette. Oracle is the world's largest enterprise software company and awards Community Impact Grants to deserving non-profits that have a major and positive impact on communities where Oracle has a presence. Oracle made the grant to help the Club meet the challenges of transitioning to a newly renovated facility and Teen Center, which are currently being constructed to accommodate rapidly growing membership, especially teenagers. Foundation Welcomes New Board Member
Concord, NH - The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation has appointed Richard M. Heath of Bow, New Hampshire, to its Board of Directors. Mr. Heath recently served as Deputy Director of the Capital Regional Development Council, overseeing operational matters related to the successful achievement of performance goals. Prior to that position, he served as Vice President of New Hampshire Operations for UNITIL Service Corporation based in New Hampshire. In that role he managed two state utility distribution operations centers, ensuring reliable and safe electric energy service to approximately 65,000 customers. Prior to joining UNITIL, Mr. Heath worked for several years at the Concord Electric Company, an electric utility distribution company servicing 27,000 customers at the time. Mr. Heath served as Vice President and General Manager of the company. Read more...

The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund awards just over $200,000 in grants
Concord, NH – The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, a donor advised fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, has awarded 18 grants totaling $206,683. In this grant round, decisions were made on fall 2008 grant requests of up to $15,000. A committee comprised of local residents from around the region reviewed requests. Grants were awarded to organizations throughout Coos County, New Hampshire, northeastern Vermont, and the MRC Coaticook region of Quebec, Canada in the fields of economic development, conservation and sustainable forestry, education and basic needs. CEO Announced for New Girl Scout Council

NH Community Loan Fund Elects New Board Member
Deborah Butler of Concord has been elected to a three-year term on The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund's board of directors. Butler is a certified public accountant with the Sulloway and Hollis law firm and chairwoman of the New Hampshire Judicial Retirement Board of Trustees. She is also a member and former chairwoman of the New Hampshire Board of Accountancy, which licenses certified public accountants and oversees their practices.
NH Youth Prevention Program Receives National Recognition
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services (BDAS) announced today that Media Power Youth (MPY) has received a “Service to Science Academy” award from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
