U.S. Treasury awards $1 million to New Hampshire Community Loan Fund Concord, NH – The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund of the U.S. Department of the Treasury has announced its award of a $1 million grant to the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund. The Loan Fund will use the money to increase its loans to manufactured housing communities, microbusinesses and non-profit facilities in New Hampshire. Read more...
Summit Presenter to Receive Award Maureen Beauregard will receive the 12th annual Women's
Recognition Award from the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Women at a
fall meeting of the governor and Executive Council. The award is given each year
to a woman who has brought honor and valor to herself and to the state through
her accomplishments and contributions. Beauregard is this year's recipient for
her tireless efforts as the president and founder of Families in Transition, a
nonprofit agency proving housing and services to homeless families and
individuals in Manchester and Concord.
Maureen
will be a presenter at the Nonprofit Leadership Summit on September
22nd in Manchester. She and Juliana Eades, President
of the Community Loan Fund, will explore leadership that goes beyond the four
walls of their organizations and how they have inspired and "grown leaders" in
Leadership that Transcends throughout the

New Hampshire Charitable Foundation Awards More than $1.8 Million. The NH Charitable Foundation recently announced 179 grants in its seven regions totaling more than $1.8 million. The competitive grant program runs two times a year, with application deadlines in March and September. View the details of each region.
Southern NH Area Health Education Center Receives Grant Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center has received a $5,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental Foundation. Since 2003, the Center has held more than 44 training sessions on "Integrating Oral Health into Primary Care," with an emphasis on pregnant women and young children throughout the state. This grant will allow the center's oral health educators to provide additional training to primary care providers.
Clean Air Cool Planet Receives EPA Environmental Education Grant A Portsmouth, N.H. organization was recently awarded a $41,714 environmental education grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency. Clean Air Cool Planet, which received the grant, will use the money to work with community groups which are assessing and improving their towns’ actions on energy use and conservation. This project also fosters creation of new local energy committees with the goal of increasing environmental stewardship and encouraging towns to make sustainable decisions on energy, transportation, waste disposal and land use. NH Creative Club Announces New President Manchester - The NH Creative Club recently announced that Chris Conroy, President and Creative Director of Heartwood Media has been elected president. The NH Creative Club is a nonprofit association of creative professionals in northern New England, including graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, copywriters, printers, videographers and others in related fields. The club serves as a creative forum for networking and professional development through its monthly meetings, panel discussions, presentations and workshops.

Dental Foundation Awards Seventh Grant to Families First Portsmouth,
NH – A recent $6,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental Foundation,
Inc., will help Families First Health and Support Center purchase
dental supplies for its on-site dental center and toothbrushes to give
to children participating in Seacoast Healthy Grins, its school-based

The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund awards nearly $200,000 in grants Concord,
NH – The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, a donor advised fund of the
New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, has awarded 20 grants totaling
$196,203. In this grant round, decisions were made on grant requests
of up to $15,000. A committee comprised of local residents from around
the region reviewed requests. Grants were awarded to organizations
throughout Coos County, New Hampshire, northeastern Vermont, and the
MRC Coaticook region of Quebec, Canada in the fields of economic
development, conservation and sustainable forestry, education and basic

The Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council Receive Grant fromRiverstone Resources LLC Bedford,
NH - The Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council’s Camp Farnsworth,
celebrating a century of all-girl camping this month, will benefit from
a $25,000 gift from RiverStone Resources LLC of Manchester, New
Hampshire. Camp Farnsworth, in Thetford, Vermont, encompasses 300 acres
of forest, trails and meadows on Lake Abenaki. Before it was a Girl
Scout camp, it was Camp Hanoum, an all-girl camp established 100 years

Volunteer NH Responds to the Needs of the Tornado Victims The
recent disaster in NH is the type of thing that often leaves people who
want to be of help wondering what they can do. Connect your employees
and clients to Volunteer NH. Volunteer NH is responsible for State
Emergency Support Functions “Volunteers and Donations” and “Long Term
Disaster Recovery.”
Now that the recovery phase is about to
take place, Volunteer NH is looking to increase the number of
volunteers who are willing to serve in times of disaster as well as the
VOAD membership (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).
VOAD is a network of organizations that can deliver a certain
resource or resources to areas/homes affected by disaster. Resources
can be anything, such as but not limited to; people (employees, church
membership) that can volunteer, product (water, food, blankets),
materials/supplies for rebuilding, professional expertise (chainsaw
use, electricians, plumbers, contractors), generators, cleaning
services, storage space for donations and supplies, transportation to
deliver these resources, etc.
