Home Care Association names new CEO
Gina M. Balkus to succeed Susan Young as the next CEO of the Home Care Association of New Hampshire
A resident of Nashua, Gina is presently Director of Government Relations at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, where she has been responsible for developing and implementing strategy to enhance public policy involvement for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the 1100-physician Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic. Previous to joining Dartmouth-Hitchcock in 1999, Gina was Vice President for Public Affairs at the New Hampshire Hospital Association from 1990-1999, and Director of Public Relations at NHHA from 1986-89. There she was responsible for state and federal advocacy, public relations and marketing, as well as coordination of the NHHA annual meetings. She received her BA from Dartmouth College, and was a Fullbright Scholar at the University of Warsaw, Poland.
Science Center Honors Retirees; Elects New Board Members and Officers
The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness recently honored six retiring trustees for their dedicated service on the Board of Trustees: Alexandra T. Breed, George Carr, John Gephart, Michael O’Leary, Bob Ritz, and Bob Snelling. Four officers were elected unanimously to serve one-year terms, commencing with election: Chair Lawrence Beeson, Holderness; Vice Chair Nancy Beck, Holderness; Treasurer Bruce Whitmore, Holderness; and Secretary John Fernandes, Ashland. Re-elected unanimously to serve three-year terms commencing with election were trustees Arthur McGinnes, of Center Harbor and Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts and David Merrill of Weston, Massachusetts. Harriet R. Harris of Holderness and Dover, Massachusetts; William F. Lee, Jr. of Meredith; and Lea A. Stewart of Campton were unanimously elected as new trustees to serve three-year terms, commencing with election.
