NAMI NH Suicide Prevention Program Awarded a $1.5 million Federal Grant
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced Monday the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Hampshire Connect program has been awarded a three year 1.5 million dollar grant to implement and enhance services to prevent suicide among young people. Connect, is a nationally-recognized program developed by NAMI NH that provides suicide prevention training and support services to communities and key service providers throughout the state. Based on the leadership role NAMI NH has played in NH’s suicide prevention efforts, Governor John Lynch designated NAMI NH to be the New Hampshire applicant for the youth suicide prevention grant. Irving Oil Renews Literacy Program Sponsorship at Children’s Museum of NH
Dover, NH – For the fourth consecutive year, Irving Oil is underwriting the highly successful Books Alive! children’s literacy program at The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. This program features visits from favorite children’s book characters and related hands-on literacy activities, to help foster an early interest in reading. $20K Grant Seeks to Help Nonprofit Child Care Centers Increase Access, Decrease Costs
Portsmouth - A local alliance of child care organizations and professionals is attempting to make such care more available and affordable with the help of a recent $20,000 grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation by sharing both material resources such as buses and school supplies, and intellectual resources such as grant writers, child care programs.

Endowment for Health Partners with NCB Capital Impact
Concord, NH – The Endowment for Health, New Hampshire’s largest health foundation, has announced an innovative partnership with NCB Capital Impact that will provide loans to a targeted group of nonprofit community health centers, community mental health centers, and independent oral health centers needing lines of credit and working capital.
