Financing forum on energy set for Monday, November 9th in Berlin
Concord, NH – An informational forum on energy efficiency and renewable energy financing opportunities in New Hampshire will be held at White Mountains Community College in Berlin from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The session is being hosted by the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the Northern Forest Center, and White Mountains Community College.

New Board Leadership at Spaulding Youth Center
Northfield, NH – Jim Clements of Tilton and Mike Ventura of Concord have assumed new leadership positions at Spaulding Youth Center and Spaulding Youth Center Foundation. Jim Clements, Headmaster at the Tilton School in Tilton, is the new Chair of the Spaulding Youth Center Board of Trustees. He has served on the Board since his election in 2000. Mike Ventura, President of Independence Trust Company in Franklin, is the new Chair of the Spaulding Youth Center Foundation Board of Directors. He has served on the Board since 2005.

Concord, NH – The HNHfoundation announces the election of Ms. Melissa McLaughlin of Rye, NH to its board of directors. Ms. McLaughlin is the Director of Human Resources for Long Term Care Partners of Portsmouth, NH, an administrative company serving federal government employees and retirees. Spaulding Youth Center Presents Awards at Annual Meeting
Northfield, NH – At Spaulding Youth Center’s 51st annual meeting on October 20th, the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department and MetroCast received special recognition for their generous support and ongoing service to the children of Spaulding Youth Center. Lewis Feldstein, President of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, was also recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nearly $8 Million Tax Credit Funding Approved for Projects Throughout the State
Concord, NH - The Board of Directors of the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA), Concord, voted to approve $7,911,250 in State Tax Credits through the Community Development Finance Authority to help fund 19 projects ranging from the expansion and consolidation of a rural family health provider, expansion of a business incubator, to site improvements and energy efficiency upgrades to a child care center, to the redevelopment of a blighted downtown building into office space and affordable rental housing. Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund Awards More Than $1 Million in Grants
Concord, NH – The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, a donor advised fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, has awarded 38 grants totaling $1,168,177. Grants were awarded to organizations throughout northern New Hampshire and Vermont, and the MRC of Coaticook in Quebec, for economic development, conservation and sustainable forestry, education and basic needs, and community safety net. Applications were submitted on April 1st and grant awards range from $4,000 to $100,000. Read more...

Endowment for Health Awards More Than $883,000 to Statewide Health Projects
Concord, NH - The Endowment for Health, New Hampshire’s largest health foundation, recently awarded more than $883,000 in grants. Awards were made to organizations for the resources necessary to forward health-related projects through planning, convening, technical assistance, research, public policy and support of strategic operations in New Hampshire. Community Loan Fund to receive 2009 Wachovia NEXT Award
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund has been named recipient of the most prestigious honor in its field, the Wachovia NEXT Award for Opportunity Finance.
The Community Loan Fund was selected by the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) for providing fair, fixed-rate mortgage loans to help people in New Hampshire's resident-owned communities build value in their manufactured homes. Northeast Delta Dental Honored as Psychologically Healthy Workplace
Concord - The NH Psychological Association recently recognized Northeast Delta Dental in the nonprofit category of their award for Psychologically Healthy Workplaces. The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award was created to recognize organizations that understand the link between employee health and well-being and organizational performance and who have implemented a variety of workplace practices in an active effort to create a positive work environment. Each applicant completed a comprehensive application and site visit and was judged on criteria including: employee involvement; health and safety; employee growth and development; work-life balance; and employee recognition. Winners from other categories were Calef's Country Store and Moharimet Elementary School.
NH Children's Trust Fund Announces Awards
Concord - The New Hampshire Children's Trust Fund (NHCTF) with the Board of Trustees announces the award of $202,692 in grants to 18 NH-based non-profits for primary prevention services for children and families, particularly those designed to prevent child abuse and neglect. Organizations may have been awarded for system building programs, for building organizational capacity, and for new projects, programs or initiatives meeting the goal of 'keeping children safe and families strong.' ActingOut Honored at Annual Meeting
Keene - ActingOut, a prevention program of the Youth Initiatives Office of Monadnock Family Services was recently honored at MFS's annual meeting. ActingOut, which is funded in part by Monadnock United Way as well as the NH State Council on the Arts, was given two awards at the meeting, firstly, the Alice Circle Award and secondly, the Ruth Ewing Award, named for life time board member, Ruth Ewing.
