 Senator Gregg Announces $711,365 For Manchester Community Health Center
Manchester, NH - Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) today announced that the Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC) will receive $711,365 in federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Community Health Centers serve patients in medically underserved areas and provide preventative care, as well as help treat those who are sick, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. These funds will help Manchester continue to make available these critical services to individuals and families without health insurance in the Manchester area.

 Stimulus Funds to be Distributed in North Country
According to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, $114,320 in funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been awarded to 6 towns and agencies in northern New Hampshire. The funds come through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program.

 ARRA Workforce Funds Awarded for Youth Lake Protection Jobs with NH LAKES
Concord, NH – Just in time for the busy lake season, the New Hampshire Lakes Association (NH LAKES) has been chosen to receive American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Workforce Investment Act Youth stimulus funds to provide participating disadvantaged youth with six weeks of academic and occupational learning focused on lake protection and “green jobs” in the communities of Laconia, Lebanon, Meredith and Pittsburg.

 NH Gateway Chapter of the American Red Cross Announces Awarded Grants
Nashua, NH - The NH Gateway Chapter of the American Red Cross was recently awarded two grants in the total amount of $12,265 for Disaster Relief preparedness. The Samuel P. Hunt Foundation granted $7,379 to purchase a Disaster Assistance Response Trailer. Pre-positioned in the eastern Windham, Pelham or Salem it will enable the Chapter to respond immediately in those communities. The Cogswell Benevolent Trust granted $4,886.44 to purchase materials such as: laptop computers, two way radios, GPS’s, Emergency Responder Kits and more to help the chapter’s capacity in all of its jurisdiction.

 TD Charitable Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to Dental Center at Families First
Portsmouth, NH – With demand for affordable dental care increasing, the TD Charitable Foundation has continued its four-year track record of supporting the Dental Center at Families First, with a recent grant of $10,000. The grant will help the Seacoast’s community health center continue integrating oral health care, education and screenings into its other services: primary and prenatal health care, mobile health care for the homeless, and parenting and family programs. In addition to serving established Families First primary care patients, the Dental Center is also open to any child or teen living in New Hampshire or Maine.

 Rick Minard and Craig Welch join the NH Community Loan Fund

 St. Mary's Bank Donates $1,500 to the Currier Museum of Art
Manchester — St. Mary's Bank announced it recently gave $1,500 to the Currier Museum of Art to help fund museum tours for Manchester School District’s fifth-grade students. “Providing culturally diverse experiences for our community’s youth is an important part of their education,” said Daryl Cady St. Mary's Bank CFO and Currier Advisory Board member. “St. Mary’s Bank is pleased to help continue the Currier’s annual tradition of giving free tours of the museum to the city’s fifth-graders.”

 NH Center for Nonprofits Announces Establishment of Advocacy Division
Claudia DamonConcord, NH - The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits is pleased to announce the hiring of Claudia C. Damon of Concord as the Director of its new Advocacy Division.Damon will oversee the Center’s public policy objectives and is charged with developing and implementing the Center’s advocacy education and training initiatives.  The two primary goals of the Center’s advocacy agenda are first, to increase the nonprofit community’s influence and engagement in public policy decisions that impact the entire sector and second, to strengthen the capacity of all nonprofit leaders and volunteers to effectively engage in nonprofit advocacy.

 New Hampshire Charitable Foundation Marks Record Year in Nashua
Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation's Nashua Region held its annual celebration last evening at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua.  Foundation donors, community partners, volunteers and staff gathered to celebrate a remarkable year for the region including a record-breaking year for grants and the inaugural presentation of the Nashua Region Emerging Leader award.  Brad and Beth Kreick, of Nashua, are this year's recipients.

 Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund announces $1 million in grants
Concord, NH - The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, a donor advised fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, awarded 16 grants totaling $1,073,411 from their fall competitive application grants program (Applications were submitted in October 2008). Grants were awarded to organizations throughout northern New Hampshire and Vermont, and the MRC of Coaticook in Quebec, in the fields of economic development, conservation and sustainable forestry, education and basic needs and community safety net.

Concord - The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits  is pleased to announce Ellen Garrity of Concord has been hired as the Program Coordinator. Garrity is charged with the planning and coordination of a yearly slate of more than 50 workshops, seminars and conference events designed to support nonprofit board and executive leaders in business, governance and management skill development. Each year more than 1,800 nonprofit leaders register for programs offered by the Center both regionally and statewide.
