Two New Hampshire Communities Benefit from Recovery Act Projects
Concord, NH - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the selection of nearly $66.4 million in essential community facilities projects in 33 states, throughout the country that are being funded immediately with federal funds provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, including two towns in New Hampshire. PlusTime NH grant is among 165 awards from New Hampshire Charitable Foundation
The PlusTime NH grant was one of 49 new awards totaling $844,065 to statewide and Concord-based organizations. Grants from the competitive spring grant application cycle, including regions, totaled 165 awards and nearly $2 million. Grants were made from a mix of funding sources within the foundation, including unrestricted funds, donor advised funds, and field-of-interest funds. Cogswell Trust Supports Dental Care for Homeless with $25K Grant to Families First
Portsmouth, NH – The Cogswell Benevolent Trust recently granted $25,000 to Families First Health and Support Center to support dental care for homeless patients. Families First provides these services through its van-based Health Care for the Homeless program and also at Families First Dental Center. Most of the Cogswell grant will be used to make up the difference between the cost of providing dental care to approximately 300 homeless patients each year and the small amount of reimbursement Families First receives. Lincoln Financial Supports the Next Generation of Voters
Concord, NH - Kids Voting New Hampshire is proud to announce support from the Lincoln Financial Foundation as part of their grants distribution in the area of Education.
A longtime supporter of the civic education program, the Lincoln Financial Foundation recently awarded Kids Voting New Hampshire (NH) a $5,000 grant to support program outreach across the state in advance of the 2010 statewide elections with the goals of increasing the number of participating cities and towns and increasing student participation. $250,000 in Grants Awarded to Support Ecology Education in the Upper Valley
Hanover, NH – The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation announced grants of $251,158 from its Wellborn Ecology Fund to
support environmental, ecology and place-based education programs. The grant dollars will go to 14 projects run by
local schools, agencies, and community organizations within the Foundation’s Upper Valley Region, which serves 61

TD Banknorth Grant Encourages Boys & Girls Club Members to Pursue Higher Education
Nashua, NH - The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has received a grant from the TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation in
the amount of $10,000 to support programs and activities that prepare and encourage Boys & Girls Club members to pursue
higher education. The Boys & Girls Club provides daily programs to build members’ academic skills and encourage the
pursuit of knowledge. In addition to home work help and tutoring, Club members can participate in activities that
prepare them for college and a career.

Community Loan Fund is recipient of $2-million Recovery Act grant
Award will finance projects that benefit low- and moderate-income families
The Community Loan Fund was recently notified that it will receive a $2-million federal stimulus grant to help boost New Hampshire’s economic recovery.
The grant, announced by Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, will enable the Community Loan Fund to make more funding available to manufactured housing communities and the homeowners who live in them, as well as to small businesses, child care providers and non-profit facilities.

President Obama Champions Social Innovation and Encore Careers

St. Mary’s Bank Gives $2,000 to Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua
Manchester, NH - St. Mary’s Bank announced it recently donated $2,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua to help provide for the staffing, equipment, volunteer training and supplies necessary to operate its after-school education program for members aged eight through 12. The program aims to improve children's academic performance, instill skills to succeed in school, prepare students for higher education and help build confidence. The Boys & Girls Club expects 350 - 400 youth will participate in these programs for fiscal year ’09.
