 More Than Wheels named 2011 Champion in Action
Manchester – Citizens Bank New Hampshire and WMUR-TV have named More Than Wheels, formerly Bonnie CLAC, as their 2011 first quarter Champion in Action® in the economic development category. As part of the award, More Than Wheels will receive a $25,000 grant, media coverage, and extensive promotional and volunteer support for its dedication and commitment to helping families and individuals improve their financial stability through the car-buying process.

 Citizens Bank First on Board for Sponsorship of The Music Hall Loft Programming
Portsmouth – The Music Hall, soon to expand from its Victorian landmark theater into a downtown Loft space, recently announced Citizens Bank has signed on as the presenting sponsor for one of the Loft’s new signature series, Writers in the Loft. The bank’s $10,000 sponsorship is the first major funding for a program in the new Loft space, which will open this spring with performances beginning in April.

 NH Charitable Foundation Supports Families First
Portsmouth - Families First Health and Support Center, the Seacoast’s community health center, recently received a $20,000 grant from the Dorothy and Paul Hobbs Health Care Fund, Dorothy and Paul Hobbs Seacoast Advised Fund, and Howard Benevolent Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation – Piscataqua Region.

 Dental Foundation’s 7-year Support for Families First Tops $50K Mark
Portsmouth - Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently made its ninth grant to Families First. The newest grant, for $6,000, brings Delta Dental’s total support for Families First to $50,000 since its first grant to help Families First found its Dental Center in 2003.

 Bank Of America Provides Support For NH Kids Count Data Book
Concord – The Bank of America Charitable Foundation announced a $5,000 grant to support the 2010 New Hampshire Kids Count Databook scheduled for release by the Children’s Alliance of New Hampshire in late February 2011. The data will inform child advocates and decision makers across New Hampshire, providing up-to-date information on the state’s children and their families.

 HNHfoundation Awards Nearly $600,000 to New Hampshire Non-Profits
Concord – The HNHfoundation awarded $591,000 in grants during its 2010 program year. The grant awards benefit health-related initiatives, organizations and municipalities that serve children and families throughout New Hampshire and that support the Foundation goals to prevent childhood obesity and increase access to children’s health and dental insurance coverage.

 Foundation for Seacoast Health Grants $345,000 to Families First
Portsmouth – The Foundation for Seacoast Health has granted $345,000 to Families First Health and Support Center, the Seacoast’s community health center. Having supported Families First since 1986, the Foundation for Seacoast Health is the longest-standing of the foundations that support Families First, as well as the largest foundation donor.

 Children’s Museum of NH Receives Fuller Foundation Grant
Dover, NH- The Fuller Foundation has awarded a $3,500 grant to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire to help sustain and further develop the museum’s Gallery 6 visual arts exhibits and related museum education programs.

Stephanie Ancona, Director of Fund Development for the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, stated, “The museum’s capacity greatly increased when we moved to Dover, and that has been a catalyst in fulfilling the goals of providing more exhibits, a wider variety of artistic programming, and improved service to a broader spectrum of families and schools. A minimum of fifteen area artists will be exhibited this year and a number of them will lead workshops for museum visitors.”

 The Coalition receives a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation
The Coalition has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Madison Fund and the Robert P. Burroughs Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The grant will support efforts to increase capacity to build a statewide development program to benefit the Coalition as well as the fourteen member programs. Over the past three decades, the Coalition has participated in successful advocacy on the state and federal level for government support for direct services to victims, and the coordinating and advocacy work of state coalitions.  Michelline Dufort Hired to Lead Advocacy Effort
Concord -The NH Center for Nonprofits is pleased to announce the selection of Michelline Dufort as the organization’s new Advocacy Director.  Ms. Dufort, former President of the NH Lodging & Restaurant Association and former Vice President of Advancement at New England College, brings to the position more than 20 years of combined nonprofit and advocacy experience.
