Fund Development Resources

Northern New England Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is a professional association of fundraising professionals with more than 200 members. The chapter organizes an annual conference, which rotates among the three states (ME, NH, VT); presents networking events in each state; and offers professional development, educational, and networking opportunities to its members.

CONFR (Continuing Education in Fund Raising) is a local and affordable resource in New Hampshire for continuing education in fund raising and development. They offer workshops and conferences.

Giving Monadnock's  mission is to strengthen the fundraising and governance of nonprofits.  They offer training programs for nonprofits, including a Fundraising Insititute.

Foundations Step Up Giving to Help Those Harmed by Bad Economy
According to this article from the Chronicle of Philanthropy, “Almost one-third of foundations say they have stepped up their giving this year to help families, provide human services, or support economic development—and 37 percent said they planned to increase such grant making next year, according to a study released by the Council on Foundations.”

The TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation is now accepting online grant applications for charitable donations. The process is very simple and takes approximately 30 minutes after you have gathered all the required documents

Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust supports projects in New England in health, education, environment and the development of philanthropy in New England. Projects usually benefit underserved populations and disadvantaged communities or focus on prevention.

Endowment for Health (NH only) funds a variety of projects that increase New Hampshire citizen’s access to health.

Foundation For Seacoast Health funds health related projects in nine towns in Southeastern New Hampshire and southwestern Maine.

Gifts In Kind International is the largest charity in the world that focuses on new product donations from corporations. They provide new products to 150,000 community charities in America and throughout the world.

New Hampshire Charitable Foundation  funds grants to nonprofits across a broad spectrum of service areas such as the arts, education, health and human services, and the environment as well as scholarship funds for students. It is headquartered in Concord and roots itself in communities across the state through a seven-region structure in the Lakes, Manchester, Monadnock, Nashua, North Country, Piscataqua and Upper Valley Regions.

NH Community Loan Fund creates opportunities for nonprofit organizations serving low -and- moderate income families to meet their program goals. The Loan Fund, a statewide non-profit lending institution with $49 million in assets, provides loans and technical assistance to promote housing, economic opportunity and essential community services.

Women’s Fund of New Hampshire seeks to increase resources and opportunities for women and girls to insure their advancement, self-sufficiency and economic and social equality. Through its grantmaking, the WFNH seeks to support innovative and creative approaches to problems facing women and girls by funding New Hampshire organizations and groups.

The Foundation Center is a great place to start. It has a variety of resources for nonprofits and for grant makers. Explore this site to learn about funding, grant writing, and philanthropy.

The Center’s RFP Bulletin , updated weekly, lists current funding opportunities. You can even sign up to have notification of new RFP’s sent to you via email each Friday.

The Center’s Foundation Finder allows you to get names and basic information of 61,000 foundations.

The 990 PF Search allows you to view foundations’ federal tax forms. These tax forms give important information about foundations’ giving history and special interests.

The Foundation Directory Online is a subscription service starting at $19.95 a month that allows users to search the Foundation Center’s online e database to find funding prospects.
